Segelschule Hafenmole: On the home page you sail yourself: set the course to the wind and the sheet, and the dinghy moves according to its polar.
Tripscha Digital built this website in 2026 for a sailing school in Lindau. The notes below show what is on the first screen and why.
What is on the first screen is there for a reason.

Dinghy
Dragging on the water steers; speed comes from the polar, and the wake grows with it.
Sheet
Eased too far, the sail luffs; sheeted too hard, the flow stalls. The state is spelled out next to it.
Values
Course, speed, apparent wind and heel, with the polar below, where you can also drag the course.
What was missing, and what is there now.
Starting point
People who have never sailed are reluctant to book five days of course blind. A feel for how a boat responds to wind makes the decision easier.
What we built
A lake as a shader with waves, gusts and wake, a dinghy with its sail shadow, telltales in the apparent wind, speed and heel from polar and trim, plus courses with dates and charter boats to scale.
Result
After the first tack, the taster course is two clicks away.
What visitors ask
Is this right for me? Roughly what does it cost? How do I get started? Who does the work?
Segelschule Hafenmole at a glance.
Place and year
